OMGPOP

OMGPOP
Have you heard of OMGPOP yet? Well, if you like little mini games or flash-based web games you should check it out. My favorite is Draw my Thing. Each person takes turns drawing a word, like pictionary, and the others get to guess what you are drawing. At times it can be difficult, but it’s pretty fun.

My biggest gripe? The users tend to write out words and don’t draw, then get pretty chumped when it’s mentioned. OMGPOP needs to enforce their own rules more, because as it stands it can get very frustrating with all the 14 year olds ruining the game for everyone else.

Besides that, though, I have a ton of fun when I find people that actually want to play the game. Check it out! My user name on there is neCeros.

MySpace: Space Wars - Join my Fleet!

I’ve been recently introduced to the MySpace apps section. I didn’t know they were there until a few days ago, but now I can’t stop playing them. I’ve played a few of them, and I like BuddyPoke and World Domination, but so far my favorite is Space Wars!

You get yourself a fleet of fighters and have to go out and fight other captains and do missions for money, experience and award points. It’s pretty fun, and I’ve just reached level 12, but there’s a lot more to go. I’ve seen some captains in the 300s — that will take some time. Until then, I am trying to expand my fleet.

A couple of the things you can do involves having more members in your fleet. You can make a fleet by adding friends to your myspace who also play Space Wars. Join my fleet today! I could use your help, and all gamers should unite even if you don’t intend to play.

StarCraft II to not have LAN mode…

StarCraft II Logo
Wait. What?

So, apparently, as according to “Big Download“, Blizzard is discontinuing the infamous LAN mode, and instead requiring only a single player and Battle.net mode. Apparently, Blizzard will be upgrading Battle.net to include future technology, to include things like achievements and statistic ratings.

This, in my humble opinion, is a poor, poor choice. Here’s their reasoning.

We don’t currently plan to support LAN play with StarCraft II, as we are building Battle.net to be the ideal destination for multiplayer gaming with StarCraft II and future Blizzard Entertainment games. While this was a difficult decision for us, we felt that moving away from LAN play and directing players to our upgraded Battle.net service was the best option to ensure a quality multiplayer experience with StarCraft II and safeguard against piracy. Several Battle.net features like advanced communication options, achievements, stat-tracking, and more, require players to be connected to the service, so we’re encouraging everyone to use Battle.net as much as possible to get the most out of StarCraft II. We’re looking forward to sharing more details about Battle.net and online functionality for StarCraft II in the near future.
